Excellence in Business Award honors GM Nameplate Monroe, North Carolina Division

The GM Nameplate, Monroe, North Carolina Division was recognized with the Excellence in Business Award by the Union County Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented at the Chamber’s Annual Gala on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Union County Agricultural Center in Monroe. It was accepted on behalf of GM Nameplate by Jack Sharrett, president of the Monroe, North Carolina Division.

The Excellence in Business Award recognizes businesses that have attained significant growth, offered quality customer services, achieved overall excellence in the marketplace and made meaningful community contributions.

The award is divided into three subcategories: Excellence in Small Business Award, open to companies with 20 or fewer employees; Excellence in Medium Business Award, for companies with 21 to 100 employees; and Excellence in Large Business Award, open to companies with 100 or more employees. GM Nameplate was honored in the large business category. 

In the last year, the company has added a new building to its Monroe campus, increased its workforce, and strengthened sales. Sharrett credits the division’s success to both his customers and staff. “We keep our customers at the forefront of everything we do and that strategy has helped us grow,” said Sharrett. “There have been significantly changes and improvements in the last year. It has allowed us to better serve our customers as well as our employees and community in Union County. I am proud to be recognized with the award but I credit the hard work and dedication of my team for everything that we have accomplished.”

GM Nameplate was also recognized as the longest running members of the Union County Chamber of Commerce. The company joined the chamber in 1960 and has been an active member for 55 years.
